2025 Young Guns Challenge Texas Showdown

The Young Guns Challenge Texas Showdown is the highlight of the year at Caprock Rifle Club! This youth-only precision rifle match will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025. This match is open to youth shooters ages 8-18(age as of January 1, 2025), and will be a PRS Match style format with all stages shot from the prone position. Coaching is allowed during the course of fire. Targets will be easily identifiable, and located from 100 out to 1200 yards.  All youths must be accompanied by adult supervision. The purpose of this event is to build confidence, skills, and family relationships in the next generation of long range shooters. Entry fees go back to the prize table, and we have some great companies stepping up as sponsors. Lunch will be provided on site, with awards to follow immediately after match completion.

• Date: Saturday, Sept 13, 2025

• Round Count: will not exceed 100 shots

• Caliber Restrictions: .30 caliber rifle or smaller, no muzzle velocity above 3200 FPS

• Check In: 7:30AM

• Safety Brief: 8:00AM

• Match time: 8:30AM-4:00PM

• Checkout Instructions: During Checkout, add your youth shooter’s name and age as of January 1, 2025 in the “Additional Instructions” box on the checkout page. We’ll build our match roster and age classes from this info, it’s very important!
